Is melatonin a safe supplement to take?

There is insufficient research on potential side effects of melatonin supplements, particularly at larger doses than the body normally produces, to have an unambiguous picture of overall health. Transient use of melatonin supplements appears to be safe for the most majority, yet research on the long haul well-being of melatonin enhancement is lacking.

Solid evidence suggests that taking melatonin before bed reduces rest idleness (the amount of time it takes to fall asleep) while increasing absolute rest duration.

An assessment of 11 studies found that taking melatonin before bedtime reduced rest inactivity by roughly 3 minutes and increased total rest duration by around 30 minutes when compared to a placebo therapy.

One more investigation of 23 examinations in individuals with infection-related rest issues observed that melatonin essentially diminished rest aggravations and rest dormancy while expanding rest length and quality.

Regardless of the fact that this study concluded that melatonin was ineffective for improving sleep in those with mental diseases, for example, Alzheimer's disease, other studies have indicated otherwise.

Furthermore, melatonin may check to fly slack, a transient rest issue.

Fly slack occurs when your internal clock is out of sync with another time zone. Shift workers may also have fly slack since they work at times when most others are sleeping.

Melatonin may help reduce plane slack by syncing your internal clock with the time change.

For example, melatonin was found to be moderately effective at reducing the effects of stream slack in a study of 11 persons who moved across at least 5-time zones.

However, before using melatonin, it is best to practice good sleep habits, for example, establishing a consistent sleep schedule, limiting alcohol and caffeine use, and limiting your exposure to light and electronic gadgets before bed.

Conclusion: According to studies, taking melatonin to induce sleep and enhance your sleep pattern is safe. I've been using melatonin capsules from HealthVeda Organics to help me sleep better and enhance my sleep cycle.
